Reflection

High school has been a very interesting experience for me.  It has definitely had its highs and lows and many confusing experiences in between.  Overall, I feel like I have been equipped for not only college, but also life as a whole.  High school has taught me many things, both academically and emotionally.  It has revealed and exposed my true colors, both good and bad, and as a result, has built many aspects of my character.  My experiences at Ilocos Sur National High school have shaped me into the person that I am today.
From this school, I have learned a lot about my personal qualities, such as my strengths and weaknesses, and my work habits and attitudes.  One of the first things that I had to learn at Ilocos Sur National High school, which consisted of my freshman, sophomore year, junior year and senior year, was responsibility.   I realized that after middle school, my teachers only had so much accountability for my grades and even actions.  Whether or not I turned in my homework or received a good grade in the overall class all depended upon me.  My teachers were no longer held responsible for whether or not I understood the lessons or even showed up for their class.  I learned to take initiative if I did not understand something and I consistently talked with my teachers about a plan that would help me to succeed in their class.  Fortunately, my working habits were never a problem for me.  I was always very disciplined and completed all of my homework, class work, and projects on time.  Yet, when it came to working with others, problems arose. I had to learn how to be humble myself and become receptive to the ideas and opinions of those around me. I could no longer continue to talk over others and disregard their thoughts.  In order to work in a group successfully, I realized that I had to be patient, flexible, and respectful.  Obtaining a positive self-esteem and self-worth was always a challenge for me.  It was hard for me to confront difficult challenges with the mindset of “I can do it,” because all that I could see was whatever was right in front of me. When I grasped the meaning of faith and being certain of what I could not see or understand, I had so much more confidence and security in myself and in my future.

Change

Change is like a tornado: it comes without warning and can turn your house upside down or let it down safely. Either way, nothing will ever be the same. A lot of people believe that tornado is a synonym for change. Gandhi once said “be the change you want to see in the world”. To me this means you have to take responsibility for what you want to accomplish.

Taking responsibility for your actions is important in becoming a change in the world. In order to make a change, you have to want to do it. If one of your friends dared you to go help a grandma cross the street, you need to want to do it, not do it because your friend dared you. Be responsibly if you decided to make a change in the world. Responsibility comes from within. So take responsibility seriously. Another good example of being the change in the world is picking up trash in parks, on the road, on sidewalk and even in sporting event places. To be responsible means to be a source or cause.

Secondly, people want the world to be a better place. Some people go around the neighborhoods talking to people and earning their trust about what they can do to help our world. Trust is earned. It does not just appear at your door step. If you recycle and other people see that and follow you in that direction, they will know that you’re trustworthy. If you start small, you will end big. So doing little things to earn others trust will give you a head start in being the change you want to see in the world. If a lot of people are having problems, help out someone out- you never know what you will get in return!

Not only being responsible, but having good character and a positive attitude will lead you to being the best you can be in order to change the world. You will never accomplish anything if you don’t have the guts to do it. The kids that do drugs and drink alcohol are less likely to be a change in the world. It is us, the people who care, and are willing to do anything to turn the world around and put it back on its feet again. If you’re a human with no good character or good attitude, don’t put things up to the last minute. Being self confident about your beliefs is having good character. Also, be committed to what you want to change.

A lot of people want the world to be an improved place, and in order to accomplish that goal, they need to believe they can do it. To be the change you want to see in the world means to be responsible for your actions. So let’s make a change today, even if we do it one by one, we can all make a different because life’s short, so let’s make it better by living in it and trying to change it. You don’t have to be some famous leader to make a change. Just take one step at a time. Try making a change every day, even if it’s not a huge one. The small deeds will build up to something immense over time.

My Future

I don’t like thinking too much about the future, after all we can only live in the present moment, and thus we should focus on that. But there’s something that I’m thinking more and more lately, and that’s helping me to get a lot of motivation. It all started with a quote, and it developed in a more general way of thinking.
"Ten years from now, you’ll regret the things you didn’t do, not the ones you did."
That’s definitely true. I don’t regret the past for the things I did, indeed I would repeat everything I’d have the chance, but I certainly wouldn’t mind having pushed my boundaries further.
When any person thinks about his future, he would imagine himself having childen and a beautiful wife. This is what most people think and imagine. People try to think about good things, but they do not put worst things in front of them. This situation is normal and it is good. But people have to put the worst things also in their future in order to know how to deal with them as I imagine my life, I can see good thing and bad things. I can visualize my life in ten years as a company manger, good father to my sons and daughter, and a traveler.

In ten years I will be a very successful company manager who tries his best to be the best and become famous. I will try my best in order to make big deals with huge companies. Now I am planning to study business at the University of Northern Philippines. In four years, I will graduate and I am looking forward to start my own business or establish a bank company. As time passed by, I will start a big business in sports. For example, make big deals with big companies such as Nike, Adidas and Puma. Furthermore, I want to be a famous in my country. I want to be famous in order to get people trust and try my best to help people who need help.

One of my dreams is to travel all over the world. I really like to travel and see the world and its people. I want to help people from my perspective. In ten years, I can imagine that I will be a good traveler who goes from a country to another. I want to see people and their cultures, their lives and behaviors. I want to be a man who sees things on real not just on TVs and radios. Traveling makes your thinking larger and makes you think in better ways.
A company manger is one thing that I will be in ten years. My aims to be a company manager are very simple and clear. One help people, two leave something that makes people remember me when I pass away. You have to try you best in order to be man admirable man. Keep in mind as long as you stay a single man and avoid women, you will reach your goals. In deed women means troubles. More than everything you have to travel a lot to see how people live and learn how to help and understand them.

Reflection

As I walked into the entrance gate of Ilocos Sur National High School the first day of freshman year, I promised myself that I would experience every opportunity available and to cherish each moment I had for the next four years.  As the culmination of my high school education draws near, I have looked back on my time spent here and I am incredibly grateful.  I believe it is such a privilege to attend Ilocos Sur National High and as a graduating senior, I could not have asked for a better high school experience.
My name is Mark Reinelle Pajares and I lived in Aggay Bantay Ilocos Sur my entire life.  I am proud to be a student of ISNHS because the teachers here are very responsible in their works and they were kind.
I grew up playing community sports such as basketball. So this year, I was picked to be a shooting guard of the ISNHS Basketball Team. We lose but it's okey because we did and we show our best to the audiences and we dont give up; we keep fighting so that we learn and to replace our weaknesses. Not only did I love the physical activity, but I enjoyed the competition.  Basketball motivated me to better myself; it tested my leadership, teamwork, and management skills.

New Year New Me

When the new year comes around it seems like the perfect time for self-improvement.Even though I’ve always failed my New Year’s resolutions, every year I promise myself that this time will be different. I’ve tried everything from being a vegetarian to starting my homework earlier to giving up Facebook. Each time after about a month (at most) I’ve given up. Why do I even bother? I don’t feel that bad when I break my resolutions but sometimes I wish I could do better.
My new year’s resolution is to get better in school, especially in math class because that’s the hardest subject I have. I want to pass all of my test grades in math, do all homework and do better in everything, such as projects, tests, homework, class work and my behavior in class.
I want to pass all of my test grades by doing homework, asking questions in class, paying attention and check my work before I handed in. Doing all of that will bring me into a good high school, and that’s what making me do well this year. I have to do all of these things to let my dream come true, which is going to an excellent high school and making my parents proud of me.
I also want to do all of my homework and that’s really hard for me to do because sometimes I have a lot of home works from other classes and I’m going to get so busy and tiered to do my homework. But I have to force my self to do all of my homework and doing homework will make you pass this class. I have to do all of my homework by writing every homework assignment in my planner, concentrate in class so I can understand the subject and it will make the homework easer and focus more.
Finally I want to do better in everything. In projects, test grades, homework … etc. I have to work as hard as I can to pass math class. Also my behavior in class is not that good because I’ve been talking too much in class and I’m not concentrating.

True Essence of Christmas

What does Christmas mean to you?
To me, Christmas means a time of happiness towards everyone. It is a time when families and close friends come home from all over the world to be with the people they love. To most people family and friends come first in their lives, so this is obviously a very favored holiday.
When it's christmas time, people exchange gifts often and take it for granted. This holiday is usually associated with receiving gifts. Personally, I think giving a gift is just as great as receiving one. Most of the time, giving gifts can be even more enjoyable. The whole idea of finding that perfect gift, making someone smile, and him or her realizing that you put that much thought into just one gift is just one way which christmas brings happiness to everyone.
They imagine seeing snow-covered houses, lit up all along the streets with their bright lights one trying to out do another, and a large fresh pine tree in their living room besides the window covered with lights and bulbs with an angel perched onto the very top. When they come in the kitchen, they smell the contagious aroma of the cookies. To me, it's not christmas without the decoration or pestive christmas treats.

Climate Change

Even though climate change is partially caused by the natural cycles of Earth, humans are still a major part of it. Greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide, absorb and emit heat in the atmosphere, keeping Earth warm enough to support life. However, human activities, such as burning fossil fuels, are adding large amounts of greenhouse gases to the atmosphere. Earth must get rid of energy at the same rate if receives energy. More greenhouse gases mean that more heat is being held in the atmosphere, which in turn makes temperatures higher. All the greenhouse gases, people have added to the atmosphere are making temperature rise faster than they are supposed to, which will cause a multitude of problems that will affect the balance of the global ecosystem.
In the future, climate change will affect people worldwide. To start with, there will be increased health risks. Rising temperatures will cause longer and more common heat waves, which result in more heat-related injuries and deaths. Rising sea levels will cause flooding which can serve as breeding grounds for malaria and other parasites. Floods will also increase coastal erosion, and destroy people's home.
